We have successfully moved our core business systems to the cloud with Microsoft Dynamics 365, going live on Christmas Day 2025.
This marks a major milestone for our business, following more than six years of planning and development in partnership with Microsoft.
Our new platform now supports all 14 JJ Foodservice branches, managing everything from stock and deliveries to sales and finance in one connected system. With around 80% of our transactions already processed digitally across more than 4,000 product lines, having a reliable and scalable system is critical to how we operate day to day.
The project was delivered in-house, with support from Microsoft, and we resumed trading exactly as planned with no disruption.
Michael Dudley, CTO, JJ Foodservice, said:
“Moving to a modern cloud platform was a significant step for the business. We’ve simplified how our systems connect and made it much easier to access real-time data. This puts us in a much stronger position to grow and innovate.”
Mushtaque Ahmed, Managing Director, JJ Foodservice added:
“Our nearly seven-year journey has now reached the finishing line, and I am still pinching myself. This project has clearly demonstrated the strength of the long-standing partnership we have built with Microsoft.”
Driving efficiency and sustainability
The new system is already improving how we use data, giving us better reporting and clearer insights so we can make faster, more informed decisions across the business.Greater visibility of stock and demand is also helping us run more efficiently and reduce waste across our supply chain.
By moving to a cloud-based platform, we have reduced our reliance on on-site servers, which helps lower energy consumption and supports our wider sustainability goals.
At the same time, increased digital processing is reducing paper usage across ordering, invoicing and reporting. We are also exploring the use of AI tools to help automate routine tasks such as bank reconciliation, supplier communications and pricing agreements.
